The first 3,000 litre demonstration plant is under construction in Melbourne, Australia, to verify at scale. We are on track to build the first industrial scale reactor system by the end of 2024 and be ready to deploy full commercial-scale systems to partners.
Our patent-pending Hydrobe® Photobioreactor units are cleverly engineered in a tank-like structure designed for a continuous manufacturing process. The enclosed microalgae photosynthetically convert CO2 into high value outputs via a three-stage process.
The Hydrobe® Photobioreactor units process high volumes of flue gases per square meter and are designed to operate at a very low material cost per volume, with very low energy intensity challenges. The units are constructed for easy, modular deployment on site, working in an array. This enables easy ramping up and down of units as required. This represents a profound step change in scalability for PBR solutions.
Our patented Hydrobe® process resolves the traditional scalability hurdles of producing biomass using photosynthetic processes.
Until now, there has never been an incentive for investment in producing biomass at scale, but our game-changing carbon-recycling technology converts biomass into valuable output options such as hydrogen, syngas, oils, bio-fertiliser and other products that have high commercial value. Outputs can be sold to recover costs and potentially become a profit stream. Biomass can be used directly as a fuel or carbon substitute easily channelled into existing production processes.
